Words such as “work”, “hurry” or haste” don’t seem to belong in the dictionary at Assembly Label. Assembly Label is your very own sanctuary, even on a weekday. Everything here is relaxed and can be minimal if you want it to be.
The simple and straight cut on that denim jacket collar, the softly crinkled linen shirt and the smell of their craft paper.
Introducing Assembly Label: Damien Horan and Daniel Oliver, two friends with a like-minded appreciation for fine-design, and dedication to well made clothing, established Assembly Label in May 2011, with a vision of creating refined menswear using high-quality fabrics and classic shapes. Stocking in just one boutique in Australia, the Assembly Label philosophy was born.
This philosophy is to treat every day like a rosy Sunday afternoon, with comfortable and quality materials, at Bondi Beach or at home. My latest Assembly Label wardrobe arrived with their beautiful branded-minimal-package and pieces arranged like a stack of Kinfolk magazines. My favourite piece is the clean-cut denim jacket, which is structured yet with a soft touch of denim. It fits me so well, especially the arm length, the sleeves and the body part are not too long like my other denim jackets. The whole collection exudes that Australian laid back aesthetic: slouchy-cut-soft tees, relaxed linen, soft-hued chinos, washed denim and ever-so-slightly-sheer whites. The most appealing aspects of this label are the meticulous details and accessible price point. I have been looking for the perfect denim jacket for a while by now, but even at the price point of A$200+, you are finding those denim jackets with the “way too classic” cut, by which I mean where the sleeves are too long and body way bulky. This Assembly Label denim jacket is just perfect, and is only A$99.
Make sure you check out Assembly Label’s full men’s collection here. The pieces may look basic, but believe me, once you’ve tried them on, you too will appreciate the beyond amazing cuts and materials that have me hooked.
