October 24, 2016

Before the hot summer officially arrives, we better prepare ourselves with the right wardrobes. Uniqlo’s ultra light high-tech fabric collections and french linen collections are definitely the two things you only need this summer. HOW TO STYLE COLOUR BURGUNDY AND MAROON IN MENSFASHION

September 25, 2016

Burgundy is warm, romantic and is an absolute staple colour during autumn and winter. This year, it has stretched its way into spring as a seasonal colour trend appearing in 2016 spring collections. Now burgundy is the ‘new navy’ where it can be worn in more ways than you think.  Belonging into the red and purple families with its other colour siblings like shades of maroon and wine, it exudes classiness due to its richness in colour. The warmer the better as leaning into more of the red tones is the way to go, according to Bloggers Boyfriend. If you are contemplating on how to match colours, burgundy looks great with brown, mustard and your usual suspects that ‘fall’ under as an autumn trend colour. On the other hand, the basic cool colours and material such as denim, navy and blue also creates the perfect contrast. If you want to translate burgundy into spring with a bit of personality, then wear the colour with sailor stripes, suggestively with black, white or navy to give burgundy a bit of life and a breath of fresh air. Burgundy in different textured materials and shades combined outfits are also recommended especially in wool, velvet, shining leather, silk or satin. This season, designers such as J.Crew, Loro Piana, John Lobb, Rubinacci and Common Projects have all raised their hands for burgundy trend.

WHAT SUITS SHOULD I BUY DURING SUMMER?

September 21, 2016

It is essential that a stylish gentleman looks sharp when he’s in his double breasted wool coat as his summer suit (without sweating). It is undeniable that linen suits are the best material when selecting your summer suits. Linen fibre is 30% stronger than cotton and is extremely breathable compared other materials. So when it’s time to replace your 10-year-old cotton garments, now you know that you have your double lasting linen in the long run!  As 2016’s summer is approaching, Calibre Australia has released their new Spring/Summer collection pieces including this Ecru Linen Blazer in a warm stone colour. Compared to Calibre’s previous seasons, the blazers in this season have a more fitted cut for me as the sleeves and waistline are slimmer in size. Normally, I would wear a size 38 but due to the nature of linen, I have selected the Ecru blazer in size 36 for a tighter fit.

HOW TO STYLE A DOUBLE BREASTED CAMEL COAT FOR MEN

September 8, 2016

A nice double-breasted camel coat is like a friend for life for a man. A structured long coat is quite a scene already, you do not want other items from your body take the coat’s spotslights. If you are dressing the coat for a casual outfit, style it with basic pieces – denim shirts, crewneck t-shirt in white, desert boots, chelsea boots, simple jeans etc. Avoid pair the coat with worn out t-shirts, overly-printed sweatshirts or distressed denim, as they make the whole outfit look messy or not clean.
