HOW TO BUILD A SCANDINAVIAN MINIMAL BEDROOM, FOR MEN
January 2, 2019
Building up a minimal and stylish Scandi space, is tough. Less is more, so rule number one, keep it simple.
Colours. Add as less colours as possible, if you have to use colours, make sure they are the similar colour hues. For example If you have picked pink, try to pick similar dusty, muted or desaturated hues. And of course try to use black, white and grey as much as possible.
Textures. Avoid glamorous-ish surfaces such as over-polished leathers, marble floors or shiny metallic metal decos, these do not belong to the minimal family. In stead, use muted texture and surface such as unpolished concrete floor, wool surfaced furnitures, anything in matt.
Highlights. What are the most important pieces in your room that you want guests to see first and focus on? Is it a huge mirror, a painting or a vase? or a few matching furnitures in the same colour or similar shapes? If you decided to make them the highlight ( focus point) of the room, make sure everything else is not distracting. Pick the right organising containers are important here to make all clutters disappear, pick monochrome colours if possible, with a nice design or the simplest shapes. Such asthese, these and these.
