Arrived in Sri Lanka! Cant believe i almost missed out my flight from Abu Dhabi to Colombo because I was trying to buy my favourite Le Labo perfume!
Everything is quite smooth and easy after passport control at Colombo airport, i bought the national Tele company Mobitel simcard it seems not very good with 4G network, you guys should try Dialog which is before existing the airport building after baggage claim. I booked my transport from here, it is $80 from Colombo airport to Galle with a five-people van becuase i needed some sleep and space to stretch after a long flight and prepare for my first exciting day in Sri Lanka.
We arrived our hotel Kahanda Kanda (one of the KK collection) around 7 am in the morning, after less than 4 hours drive. Since we picked the wet season in Sri Lanka, so it is bit cloudy.
When we arrived at KK hotel, before our car is well parked, the hotel staff is already waiting under the deep stairs for us. It is the saturated yellow orange wall and tropical plants standing upon us, followed by pawpaw tropical juice and some amazing breakfast next to the pool, we finally get to see our room – a huge concrete floored peacock suite – There is a male peacock being hanging around our front yard the whole morning, our lucky day! As he disappeared the second morning. 🙁
The second day we moved to KK’s new hotel on the beach – KK Beach Hotel – it is right in front of the ocean – compare to our Peacock suite at Kahanda Kanda hotel, it is even more minimal, including the stairways to our level and the whole interior inside our suite – conrete inside out and very spacy – a huge bathroom and balcony looking at the ocean.
