“Not many islands in Thailand are as isolated as the Koh Kood island now”, said our tour guide from Soneva Kiri. The only ways to visit the Koh Kood island is by ferry or Soneva Kiri‘s private plane. When we arrived at the harbour, a public ferry was just about to depart. Next to the pier, it is the small fishing village, it is so quiet and chill there, a few young lads are fixing their fishing net and some women are grilling some fish with their house doors open facing the ocean. The water here are so clear and blue, I saw all kinds of tropical fish down there.
You can chill at one of these little restaurant facing the ocean, there are nobody else were there during our visit, one of the best kept secret in Thailand. Very relaxing. The fish/seafood you can order here are fresh – they are kept in the net in the ocean.
It is quite similar to the houses and villages around Bangkok Floating markets, people are living above the water.

After the Koh Kood fishing village, we went to the waterfall! The waterfall is not big at the moment but there are many people! We all had fun with the cliff swing!
Our boat guy at Soneva Kiri, waiting for us at the Soneva Kiri main island’s Pier.
After exploring the village and the Koh Kood island, we went back to Soneva Kiri for a relaxing afternoon at Soneva Kiri‘s private beach- the north beach – it is on another private island by Soneva Kiri, only 5 minutes by Soneva Kiri‘s complimentary speed boat. At the Soneva Kiri‘s north beach, we can order food (on particular dates), drinks, play kayak, stand-up-paddles and wind-paddles. There are also some other paid entertainment such as diving, private boat tour etc…
outside our villa – private pool area – half of the villa is above the swimming pool – just like the local people here – living above the water!
