If you are International tourists or you are paying a extremely short visit to melbourne, I am sure that you have such troubles as no time digging secret hidden laneway cafes, plus lots of them are not even open for business during the weekends here in Melbourne. Just like me, when in Melbourne city central for a night, there are some amazing cafes I have to bathe into just for the sake of that Melbourne Vibe Blood in my veins.
Good things for Melbourne summer is that you get the chilly mornings and then followed by the heat after 10am. So I would definitely get my everything done before it is too hot or too crowded around Swanston and Elizabeth Street area. If you are staying around H&M, ZARA and David Jones area on Bourke street, you should definitely check out Brother Baba Budan, they are one of the best cafes in Melbourne central area. Avoid Weekdays rush hours such as 8 am and 12:30 pm, try to get their just when they open or very early morning during the weekend.

Everything here at Brother Baba Budan is original, simple and old fashioned.
And No, Brother Baba Budan doesn’t serve breakfast but some pastries and desserts, so if you are looking for something great, fast and just for the sake of waiting for H&M’s opening at 9:30 am on a Saturday, try GPO’s Federal’s Coffee Place right outside H&M. At least that’s what I do on a early weekend morning. the breakfast is delicious, served fast as well.

Arrived at Federal Coffee Place just cross the street not far from Brother Baba Budan for some real food.
I ordered Special of the Day plus extra bacon and fried eggs. They served super quick which is a plus. Friendly staff as well
