April 28, 2016

Just because St. Patricks Day has already passed, it doesn’t mean green has passed it expiry date as a seasonal colour! But let’s be honest here, wearing the colour green does sounds like a scary thought! Even Blogger’s Boyfriend even tried to stay clear from the colour green! Green was like the ‘Voldermort’ of his colour palette, not evening daring to say or think about it but now things have changed. Go from the grinch to GQ style! So do not fear as the grass is greener on the other side!

While a beautiful pastel or dusty green acne studios suites or an easy bright summer Peal chino shorts are beautiful hues and shades that are quite flattering to the eye, we want to green in their literal approach and go back to the basic green. Darker greens go with darker red, brown, burgundy and dark orange whilst pastel greens goes with washed orange, washed denims and whites. A refreshing summer green also goes great with saturated, bright colours as well, don’t forget always play texture contrasts such as combine them with light weighted silk, linen and satin but try not to mix more than three colours. Using the same accents of colours to your outfit is really the trick to dressing accordingly when it comes to wearing a colour like green.

classics2 Yes, it is green, but it is NOT ALL about green – Concentrate On The Silhouette

From the silhouette to the cut,  bring attention to the finer details in the tailoring which means when you wear the classic pieces like a green pea coat, complement it with pleated camel trousers and classic camel Acne Scarves for more volume and texture. This will upscale the green with more sophistication and eliminate the homeless look and avoid anyone dumping loose change into your coffee!

3Be Bold

If you’re up for a statement look, this is the time to make the most of it and wear green as much as possible to be brave and bold! To balance the colour tones, wear your green as the focal point of your outfit so that mean wearing a green wool coast and to simply wear neutral coloured pants like Blogger’s Boyfriend paired with minimal accessories like a black beanie or a watch. foto 02

4 Play with textures
Now let’s take it up a notch with textures! Wear green furry textures, green leathers and green shining rubbers and yes we are being serious! Give your outfit that touch of extra spice and some depth! Make it loud and make it bolder than bold!

5 Keep it Light

But if bold is not your cup of tea then doesn’t mean you should miss out the colour of the season! If you really can’t get your head around or get comfortable to wear a bold green then opt for these pastels, ashy and dusty greens to start with as a tailored suit in the warmer days.

How do you like to rock greens ? Have we kicked your fear off this colour yet? Our advice- Get your ass out of that comfort zone, because otherwise you will never grow out of your fear (and that goes for all your fashion fears)!
